Write your manuscript in Microsoft Word on A4 pages without any multi columns or special layout formatting. UseTimes New Roman 12 point with chapter headings in 18 point bold and any sub headings within chapters in 14 point bold. Range all headings left and type in lower case with capitals only on the first letter of the first word and any proper names within the title.

Indicate within the text where pictures are planned in Times Bold 11 point, clearly marking the name of the picture file. The picture file should be supplied separately. Under the picture identity in your manuscript, type in times Italic 12 point the exact caption (if any) that you wish to publish.

Do not put any text or descriptions in boxes or tables. Only use tables for table data which should be included on a separate Word file. Mark where the table should appear in the same way as you mark a picture position.

Pictures should be submitted in a separate folder. Ideally, if you have appropriate photo software, pictures should be converted to CMYK colour mode and saved as TIF files. The resolution should be set at 300 dots per inch and the dimensions of the photo in centimetres should at least match the size they will appear on the page.

If your software is limited, at least ensure each photograph is a separate JPEG file and that the dimensions at 72 dots per inch are 4 times the size of the final printed photo; at 180 dots per inch the dimensions of the file should be twice the size of the final printed photo; and at 300 dots per inch, the photo file should be at least the size of the final printed photo. Different cameras save at different dot per inch resolutions.

In any event, always submit a single photo to us, early in your project, and we will advise whether you are on the right lines.

If your manuscript does not easily comply with the above guidelines, then please talk to us before you embark upon your proejct and we will try and devise an agreed and helpful format.
